Quarto. 195mm x 150mm. Title is A1. Collates complete as per ESTC ,358,pp Title slightly dusty, first 2 leaves have corner repairs NAT. Textually very good, good margins. Later two-tone full leather with outer gilt decorated borders, later rebacked in fine calf over raised bands. Gilt lettering to spine. Babington (1550-1610) was Bishop of Llandaff, Exeter and Worcester during the time of Elizabeth 1st. Whilst holding high office, his cousin, Anthony Babington, was executed for treason against the Queen.
